A Permanent Housing Solution
Eleven years after the Syrian conflict, millions of innocent children and families are still without permanent, dignified shelter (Global Shelter Cluster, 2022). At this point, those who were children when the conflict began have reached adulthood, and thousands of babies have been born into refugee camps. Allowing this to continue through failure to do anything about it is unacceptable. Growing up in a home rather than a glorified tent is not, and should not be considered a luxury, reserved for a few. People from every corner of the world deserve to have the opportunity to develop and raise their families in a real home - a place of safety, security, and hope. Trade Venture refuses to grow numb to the reality that 1.6 billion people, a whole generation of children, do not have adequate shelter (United Nations Habitat, 2018).
In light of this number, Trade Venture has worked with forward-thinking architects and skilled engineers to design a more permanent solution for those who find themselves without a home. Knowing that every culture values a different definition of ‘home’, these homes were designed to be culturally competent, flexible, and adaptable. Moreover, they were designed to be permanent homes, not temporary fixes.
It takes upwards of 11 years to rehome innocent families after a conflict, so why not provide a permanent solution from the beginning? Trade Venture provides this solution.
